About Shaiv Sewa Samiti
Founded in 2007, Shaiv Sewa Samiti is a local NGO based in Salkhan, Robertsganj (Sonbhadra district). We work closely with rural communities to deliver sustainable programs in skill development, women’s empowerment, nature conservation and social awareness. Our approach is community-led: we train, enable and partner with local people so they can create lasting change.
Our Mission: To empower underserved communities by providing training, resources and awareness — building livelihoods while protecting the environment.
Our Vision: Thriving rural communities where women lead, skills create livelihoods, and nature is protected for future generations.

Our Work
Programs focused on community upliftment and sustainable development
Skill Development
Vocational training, digital literacy, tailoring and small-enterprise support to increase livelihoods. We run short-term courses and practical workshops tailored to local market needs.
Sample activities: Tailoring classes, computer basics, mobile repair, handicrafts.
Women Empowerment
We promote leadership, financial literacy and entrepreneurship among women through self-help groups (SHGs), micro-savings and vocational training.
Sample activities: SHG formation, leadership workshops, microfinance guidance.
Nature Conservation
Tree plantation drives, clean-up events and awareness campaigns to protect the local environment and promote sustainable practices.
Sample activities: School plantation programs, river/road cleanups, composting training.
Social Awareness
Health camps, education camps and civic awareness drives to strengthen community knowledge and participation in local governance.
